Games 2024 and 2028: Paris and Los Angeles Commit to Promote Student International Mobility. From June 11 to 24, Paris is hosting 23 students from Los Angeles for a two-week stay dedicated to "Science and Technology in French Sport and the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games". In this context, the two cities wished to join the program of the "Community Colleges in France" developed by the Embassy of France in the United States in partnership with the network n + i which includes the 50 engineering schools most prestigious of France. Created in 2016, this program aims to promote student mobility across the Atlantic to Community Colleges students. These post-baccalaureate institutions account for almost half of the US student population at the Bachelor level, yet less than 2% of US students abroad come from their ranks. The students in Paris come from community colleges in the Los Angeles district and will be housed in one of the CROUS university residences. During professional conferences and field visits, they will meet French sports actors and the Paris Olympic and Paralympic project to better understand the scientific, technological and environmental issues posed by the hosting of an event of a year. such magnitude. The students were welcomed at the City Hall on June 12th by Marie-Christine Lemardeley, Deputy Mayor in charge of Higher Education, Research and Student Life, as well as Pierre Rabadan, Sports Advisor and at the Olympic and Paralympic Games with the Mayor, to discuss student life in Paris, the challenges of organizations and sustainable development of major international events and their impact on the population.
